Marian Lally is my physical fitness guru. I’m almost 55 years old, and have never been stronger, or more fit, thanks to her Live Zoom workouts, four days a week. Her variety of strength and cardio offerings is incredible. With the exception of her pilates mat class—a gold standard for growing and maintaining core strength—she has never taught the same routine twice (and even the pilates she often changes up). Marian is attuned to longevity like no other instructor I’ve worked with. By following her feet strengthening exercises, balance challenges, and brain-sharpening footwork, not only am I going to live longer, I’m going to live better. Marian’s cues are spot on; with every bicep curl and squat, she leads each individual expertly through every motion. For this reason, I will never be injured in one of her classes. Fitness is not a side gig for her. Marian is constantly continuing her already extensive education of physiology and kinetics. She’s a pro. I think I’ve named all the “best parts,” but here’s one more: if I happen to be traveling or miss one of her classes, there’s an entire library of recordings from which to choose another.
I have been using Marian’s recorded classes since August 2021. She always gives modifications for each exercise, encourages you to push yourself, and most importantly, is extremely mindful of maintaining proper form. I have watched videos from other instructors on various streaming platforms and Marian is in a league by herself. She’s no nonsense, easy to follow, down to earth and extremely knowledgeable about movement and body positioning. Once you watch a few of her videos, you won’t want to watch anyone else’s.
Marian Lally’s classes are easy to follow and adaptable for all fitness levels. Her content is well thought out and offers variety. I love the convenience of using her video library or catching a “live” class. An instructor who is extremely knowledgeable and always available to discuss questions/concerns, DoThisNotThatFitness is a wonderful workout option!
Marian knows more about exercise than anyone else I know, not to mention muscles I didn’t know I had and how to protect their functioning. The eight or so rotating workouts have plenty of variety to keep you from getting bored, and individual adjustments for aging bodies as requested. Marian’s the best.
With Marian’s invaluable help, we remained healthy and active throughout the past three years. She offers a variety of classes that improve balance, strength and general fitness. During the Live Zoom classes, she watches and corrects participants’ form without revealing names. Having access to the extensive library of recordings is an added bonus. We are so grateful for Marian’s skills and enthusiasm - she is a wonderful online teacher!
Marian is the best instructor/trainer I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many excellent ones. She cares about her clients, and she makes sure each class is new and intriguing. Do you ever get bored repeating the Pilates routine? Not with Marian. While faithful to the tradition, she is also creative. She has a finely tuned understanding of body mechanics, which she passes on to her students, and which ensures her coaching is effective and avoids injury. I have been taking classes weekly from Marian since before COVID hit. I am 74 and have a severely curved spine. With Marian’s excellent coaching I have strengthened my core and all the muscles in my back, neck and shoulders and can now stand and walk correctly. Although my spine still has a curve with my corrected posture and the proper clothing it is barely visible. It would not be an exaggeration that Marian has changed my life and I feel and look years younger.
Marian Lally has been my personal trainer for many years. I feel confident that I can speak to her superb abilities as a trainer and osteoarthritis educator. Marian provides personal training services that are directed to the clients individual's needs. She is able to modify and adapt exercises to each individual. She is amazing at breaking down directions that can be understood to achieve the desired action. She has helpful sayings that clients can hold onto and integrate into daily life. She is a gem in the personal training and Pilates world.
Marian’s ability to focus on her client separates her from the rest. It takes incredible stamina, energy, commitment and expertise to constantly provide the type of oversight that gives you the best chance at gaining strength (and diminishing your chances of getting injured when you train). Recently Marian gave a Zoom class for those of us with Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. I took the class because I was interested in streaming her Pilates Class and was worried about injuring myself since I have a curved spine. The class was excellent and I have been applying what I learned to Pilates, Yoga and Foundations as well as cleaning and gardening. I can’t say enough about Marian’s exceptional knowledge and excellent teaching style.
